I'm confused by Pearl's actions in "We Need to Talk". I get that she wanted to make Greg jealous, but did she really think Rose loved her back as she did? I guess until we see more of their interactions, that last part's up for debate. Plus, you could say Pearl refused to believe otherwise.
Anyway, the fact that they fused easily doesn't mean much. I mean, Ruby and Sapphire didn't even dance to fuse into Garnet! They just hugged. So Rainbow Quartz didn't prove that their relationship was as Pearl had hoped. But, she probably wasn't wrong when she called Greg a "phase". Much to her disappointment, though, Rose found something special in him, I guess.
Welp, those are just my thoughts.

Lol the fusion thing is really true. Just cause they danced (and believe me as obvious as it was she was thirsty for Rose), thats not much because look at all the gems dance (Not counting Ruby/Sapphire). Jasper twirled Lapis, didn't mean it was romantic.
I think the bird logic was just to tell Greg, "I can do this with Rose and you'll never do it". But well you won't get the comparison but Pearl is just like Snape BD;. Doesn't want to let go of the fact their love interest just didn't love them, that way.
